My Favorite Coffee Shops to Work at around Columbus Ohio

I love writing in coffee shops. It's a great way to change up my scenery and find new perspectives. When I find myself up against writers block changing up my scenery tends to help me find something to write about. The different environment helps me feel motivated and inspired to get work done. Sometimes when I'm at my apartment, I lack motivation and find myself distracted by things that need to be done around the house. Discovering new places to create is an excellent way to improve creativity or break free of a creative block. If you want to learn more about this topic, check out one of my previous blog posts - Creative Spaces: Designing Your Perfect Environment for Self-Expression.

I wanted to take some time today to share some of my wife and I’s favorite coffee shops to go to around the Columbus, Ohio area. We are both writers and have a 3 month old, so finding places to get out of the house and get some work done is important to us. If you live near by or are visiting you should check these out! They are in no particular order and I’m not ranking them in this post. Just know they are all great places to visit!

I don’t want this to be a rating blog post but a place where I can share my experience and thoughts with each one and whether they seem like a good fit to get some writing done. Most of my posts on this blog have been written or at least worked on in one of these coffee shops. We want to emphasize that these places have helped us stay productive while enjoying great coffee. Our experience has shown that changing our environment regularly improves our creative output. Like I’ve said before you alway need to be trying things out and experimenting what works best for you to stay inspired and creative.

Ethos + Co

My wife and I love going to Ethos + Co cafe. It's a great place to get work done while supporting meaningful causes. Every month they select a charity and donate all their proceeds to that organization. Their mission is to create a space for coffee, community, and conversations. As one of our favorite spots, it's also become the perfect environment to spend a morning with our new baby. You can learn more about them on their website https://www.ethosco.cafe/. I love the environment and it feels good to be a part of something bigger than us by helping out charities doing amazing work around our city.

Mr. Bean Coffee

Mr. Bean Coffee is a coffee shop we just recently tired out over in the Powell, Ohio area. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve driven by and thought it would be a fun place to check out. It has a fun welcoming vibe with plants all over the room. I may have hit my head on a big flowing plant coming from the ceiling haha. The environment was inspiring to writing with all the foliage scattered around the room. We’ve only been there once but would want to go back again soon. You can find them over on their Instagram page if you want to learn more about them. https://www.instagram.com/mrbeantherebrewedthat

Olentangy Brewing Company

This coffee shop offers a vibrant, energetic atmosphere though it's less family-friendly. If you enjoy socializing and thrive in lively environments, this would be perfect for you. The space constantly buzzes with people working and engaging in conversations. They offer various seating options, including outdoor seating. I have never been there when it was not popping and it seems to be everyone’s go to spot to work or just socialize.

Missions Coffee

Missions coffee is a unique shop you can find in downtown, Columbus. It’s kinda off the path behind what looks like an old abandoned warehouse. I thought I was going to the wrong place when I pulled in to where the GPS told me to go. But once I got in, the vibes are great and was a fun place to write at. They have really good coffee and friendly staff. It had a vintage theme and they make their coffee from a trailer and put it on this fun little spinning tray to give it to you inside the building. It was overall a really fun unique experience that really helped to inspire me to be more creative. You can find more out at their website https://www.missioncoffeeco.com.

Florin Coffee

I love Florin Coffee. They have a smaller shop, so finding a seat can be challenging if your timing is off. The space features a welcoming atmosphere with lovely plant decorations. They roast their own coffee in-house, ensuring each cup is remarkably fresh when served. The staff is exceptionally friendly, making this definitely a spot I'll visit again. If you'd like to check out their coffee or order beans directly, you can find all the information on their website: http://www.florincoffee.com/

The Village Coffee

This is the newest coffee shop I've added to my list of locations I love to visit. Located in Sunbury, The Village Coffee offers an inviting atmosphere that immediately captured my attention. They have really good coffee with several specialty options, and their comfortable, nice cozy seating areas that make it easy for me to get some work done without feeling cramped. The interior design features warm wooden elements and soft lighting that creates a perfect ambiance for focused work or casual meetings. Every time we've visited it has been busy, but we were always able to find a place to sit and work in peace without feeling rushed.
